"Excuse me. What time is it? (3:21 PM, or so) What state am I in? (New York) Are we near Saratoga? (No) I mean Saratoga, where the horses are. (No) What day is it? (Friday) How do you get to Saratoga? (I don't know) Can you help me get to Saratoga? (I don't think so)" |

That is somewhat of a recollection of some experience I had when I was in ninth grade. I was walking home from school when some strange guy approached me. I think this man escaped from a mental hospital. Thankfully, there was a cop who was filling in for the regular crossing guard. I made an effort to make sure I approached the officer without him by my side so justice would be served and derranged lunatics like him would not be allowed on the streets and derranged lunatics like me could continue to live our crazy lives. I got home a few minutes later. What I found was also strange as I turned on the TV to find all TV stations, except one, not broadcasting. This was the day of the World Trade Center bombing, and all the local New York broadcast transmitters are located on the roof of one of the twin towers, except one which was located on top of the Empire State Building. Certainly a strange evening for me. |

Why am I mentioning this? Well, I'm taking a bus from New York City back to school in Plattsburgh. Usually, when I take busses between Plattsburgh and New York, there is a half hour break in Albany. However, tonight, the first hour of the trip was exceptionally long. Instead of the regular stop in Albany, we had an hour of waiting in Saratoga. I've never actually been to Saratoga before, where the horses apparantly are, so I sat in the diner which was next door to the Saratoga bus station, which is the typical American diner with the typical eccentric people working there, which I have run into throughout my travels. |

While writing this, I thought that this little piece of writing would make a great introduction to my website. This was just a random slice out of somebody's life, and there are so many slices to choose from. These slices seem to be similar, but each, in its own random, yet special way all possess something which I hope you will say that this website, and more importantly, I possess. This attribute which I am promoting is character. |
